Data Literacy 101

Course Description:

The Data Literacy 101 course, offered by the Office of the Chief Knowledge Officer (OCKO) at TRADOC Headquarters, provides foundational lessons on data literacy. This two-day course is designed for Army officers, non-commissioned officers of all ranks, and Army civilian professionals who work with data, information, or knowledge to support decision-makers within TRADOC. The course covers definitions, descriptions, examples of data analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and visualization. Its goal is to help participants understand data better and think critically to solve complex problems within TRADOC by using data to support their recommendations.

Format:

The course is taught in person at the Education Center, Fort Eustis, Virginia, located at 1500 Madison Ave. Students are required to bring their Army laptops.

  • Registration opens at least 30 days prior to the class start date.
  • Please complete the prerequisite course before signing up for this class.
  • To register, fill out the registration form available on the Knowledge Management Training and Professional Development Portal.
